Like no other place in the world, Rome is a city fighting to stay modern in the shadows of its former empire. Motor bikes whiz around the Coliseum just as the Pantheon is photographed by digital cameras. What are our underlying influences? Are we modern minds fighting to leave the past behind us? Or are we forever Cro-Magnon men, lost in a modern world?
Using modern dance and an ancient backdrop, Mikhailenko explores this dichotomy.
